Five things I believe about design.
Evidence beats opinion.
I’d rather ship a decision backed by what users did than one backed by whoever argued hardest in the meeting.
Simple is a moving target.
In enterprise software, simple means the right features at the right moment. A screen that felt clean at launch needs another look every quarter as the product grows.
Decide what to leave to people.
With GenAI, I spend most of my design time on where a person should stay in control, and on making that handoff clear when the system passes work back.
Design systems are org design.
A component library only helps if separate teams share its vocabulary and make the same calls. Most of my design-system work goes into that alignment.
Ship, then improve.
I put something real in front of people early and let their feedback shape the next version, instead of polishing in private.
Eight years, four industries.
Most recently I led UX research at Fidelity Investments, setting design strategy for a platform modernization used by more than 200,000 people. Before that I led research for an autonomous retail IoT platform at Vontier, designed B2B dealership tools at Ford, and worked on mission-critical scheduling systems at Amtrak.
I hold an M.S. in Information Science and Human-Computer Interaction from the University of North Texas.

Some of the work I'm proudest of never shipped as a product. I ran design thinking sessions at Fidelity's Connect Week, taught UX fundamentals to interns, and founded a UX guild across Vontier's operating companies so designers could critique each other's work.

I train at Brazilian Top Team in Dallas under Professor Leonardo Machado and hold a purple belt. It trains the same thing research needs: staying calm and working the problem before the answer is clear.

I've played guitar for more than ten years in a handful of bands, from heavy metal to melodic alternative rock. Along the way we wrote, recorded, and released several EPs, albums, and singles.
